Kirsty Lee Akers is one of Australia’s most unique and authentic recording artists. A rare talent who is proud of her indigenous heritage as a woman of the Wonnarua nation, Akers describes herself as a fusion of modern Country and Americana with Pop stylings. Kirsty is the only artist in history to have won three of the major prizes in Australian Country Music; Toyota Star Maker, Telstra Road to Discovery and a Golden Guitar Award.

Four Years Touring North America
While Australia will always be her spiritual home, she spends a lot of her time overseas, having toured both the United States and Canada throughout 2015, 2016 and 2017.
The year 2018 saw her return to Canada to play the two major Canadian Country Music festivals, Calgary Stampede and Big Valley Jamboree, while also expanding her horizons as she showcased her music in the United Kingdom for the first time at the Buckle and Boots Festival.
In 2019, Kirsty concentrated on touring her new album across Australia, paying considerable dividends on the home front.
Her current album ‘Under My Skin’, released in July 2018, saw Kirsty achieve her highest ever ARIA chart positions (ARIA #8 Australian and #29 All-genre chart positions) with the title track ‘Under My Skin’ exclusively premiering on the Country Music Channel (CMC) social media achieving more than 50k views in 4 days.
Career Success Continues
Online things are powering ahead as her Facebook closes in on 20,000 fans, ‘Under My Skin’ has now achieved over 1.2million streams on Spotify and Apple Music (Dec 2019), with the three music videos from this record released so far being viewed almost 200,000 times.
During 2019, her music was been added to ‘Fresh Country’, ‘Country Party’, ‘Country Chill’ and the indigenous songwriters ‘Original Storytellers’ playlists on Spotify, as well as ‘Aussie Country’ on Apple Music.
The last few years have seen the achievment of many accolades including a Golden Guitar Award Finalist spot in 2017, an APRA Award finalist spot in 2018, Vanda and Young Song writing Competition finalist spot and seven CMC Award nominations (2016/2017/2018), she has also been recognised with multiple honourable mentions in the International Song writing Competition (USA – 2018/2019).
